Sea World

Here are some pictures to our first trip to Sea World this season. The boys were both really excited to ride the Shamu roller coaster. It was Ian's first time, and he loved it, he is going to be such a roller coaster junkie! Jason was scared but still had fun, we only let them ride once because the lines were so long! Spring break is a busy time for Sea World, we are looking forward to a less crowded trip next time.

Here is my friend: Mellow Yellow, the 9 year old albino python. I even got to hold her. She was really heavy! I got my picture taken with her but we didn't want to buy the picture (and why would I want a copy, it's not like I'm going to frame it and put it in my house, all our pictures are digital). The boys liked the aquariums, Ian couldn't take his eyes off the huge fish!

This is where I fed Ian to the sea lions!

We had a fun trip, the boys were awesome! Matt and I kept commenting on what good kids we have. We almost didn't go because I was about up to my limit with kids after spring break, but I am glad we did, they were so well behaved. And let me just say it now, I would like to kiss the man who invented the gameboy, 6 hours entertainment! The boys were really cute. Jason moved his seat closer to Ian in the car and they took turns, one would watch while the other played!

Strawberahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I made this cake for a baby shower today. It was a yellow cake, the filling was homemade strawberry and the icing was cream cheese frosting. I also made a sauce out of the filling that we poured over the cake. Now, I'm kinda weird because I like to decorate cakes, but I'm actually not that crazy about eating them, but this one was really good. Om-nom-nom. Sorry, I do not have any leftovers.

Going Green- Kemit style!

Sorry Kermit... I don't know what you were talking about, but it's easy being green! Happy St Patrick's day everyone. Since I don't like to dye my food or feel like doing something good for the environment, the boys and I went around and found things that were green! Like my awesome Lucky Charms shirt!

Jason was willing to wear green today... he didn't want me to pinch him with my green nails!
Both the boys had green underwear on, but Ian didn't want to show his (there's nothing wrong with being modest), so he showed me that Dactyl is green!
Vai has green eyes, she takes after her daddy!

Halfway to 60!

Yes, this year Matt truly needed to give heed to the warning "Beware the Ides of March" for on this day of this year, he turned 30. I'll need to check with Cesar, but I think that Matt got the better end of that warning.
Saturday we went out and celebrated a dinner without the kids (thanks Sells!) We went to Hubbell & Hudson for dinner. WOW, if you live in the Houston area you need to check it out. Hubbell & Hudson is a market, a bistro and a cooking school. The Market was really fun, if you are at all interested in healthy, organic foods and gourmet eating you need to stop by. The food at the Bistro was aaahhhhhhhhhhh, sorry it was just too good for words. We're already planning our next trip back, however we need to save a little money before we can go again, which reminds me, thanks Joani for paying for our meal!

Saturday was also Pi day (3.14 march 14th) so we had some pie to celebrate, which turned into birthday pie for Matt's birthday.

2 Wheels!

Yesterday Jason really got the hang of riding without training wheels. He was close for a while but lacked confidence to do it, and since most of his friends can ride without training wheels, I thought it was time to "give him a little kick" and now he's a pro! He's still scared to start by himself, and I feel bad because his bike is tiny for him, but I'm so proud of his hard work.

It was really windy yesterday, so I removed the sound and added music for your viewing and listening enjoyment.

Slow news week

It's not that things don't happen, it's sometimes they don't feel blog-worthy. For instance, I helped make a bunch a bracelets for some teachers to sell to help raise money for a little boy with medical bills. I didn't want to seem like I was bragging, especially since I have a lame-o video of me playing the bass.
Here is Jason's Kite (He's a high flyer at school because he knows all 50 kindergarten sight words) Awesome job big guy! But he doesn't really care, it's just not that big of a deal for him (even though he was the first in his class -oh yep, there I go bragging again) Sure, this is blog worthy, but I was just lazy and busy with other things.
I finished a book last night, I enjoyed it, and the only other person I know that read it HATED it. So I can't even blog about that. So life keeps going on at the Cannon house, sometimes it not very exciting (Yes, that's a good thing). I am not babysitting much right now, that's good and bad! I am not being very productive with my new free time, but hey, I have free time! I miss my little friends too!
Ian is a Zelda Junkie... He honestly believes he is Princess Zelda, just asking anyone who knows him! And last but not least Matt, My better half is truly my better half, he ran 8 miles yesterday, I'm so proud of him! I wish I could do that! So That's what's happening here. Don't worry, you're not missing much!
