Baby Quilt

One of the nice things about having Matt gone (sorry babe, love you) was I was able to finish this baby quilt for one of my friends. I feel really guilty, her shower was last week and I didn't go because I wasn't done. The really bad part was, I could have been done, but I spent my evenings with Matt reading. Anyway better late then never, at least the baby isn't born yet.

More cute boys

Here are a couple more pictures I took yesterday. They are such precious little ones...hmmm, I Just heard Jase run down the hall and say, come on master let's get Dooku! They are such boys! Well we are winding down our uneventful week without Matt. Hope you have all enjoyed my numerous posts this week too.

Beautiful Things...

Hey hon, Guess what, I haven't killed the flowers yet... I also haven't killed the boys! They were showing a little brotherly love today. Jase is beautiful like always and I love to see how much Ian loves his big brother, it's precious! Yes these pictures were taken with the Pentax... Jealous? The picture is not of the hibiscus flower, but the fuzzy middle part, look at it large! Enjoy

For Matt!

Hey honey, How is your trip? Here are your little boys today. Naturally they are playing with the airplane and luggage because of your trip. Did you know that Jedi's take luggage on vacation? Seems to make sense to me. And apparently Obi One Kenobi is going to Pennsylvania. (a common vacation spot for Jedi) I asked Jason if he missed you and he said he did and he also misses Gabriel (you know the weird kid in his class) Well I guess his family left school early. So we are thinking of you lots. Have phun! That's fun for physicists. Love you.

Ian's head... Missing his Dad

This morning Ian asked me where Daddy was, I explained (again) that Dad was out of town and would be back on Saturday. Here is our conversation.

Ian: "I miss daddy"
Terri: "Oh, I'm sorry bud, does it make you sad that he is gone?"
Ian: "I miss daddy, I sad because I miss him"
Terri: "It's okay, he'll be home soon"
Ian: "I miss daddy, I want to go to Taco Cabana"
Terri: "The only reason you miss daddy is because you want to go to Taco Cabana with him?"
Ian: "Yeah"

Well there you go hon! In the eyes of our 3 year old you are the giver of Taco Cabana! On another note, he must find it special that the three of us get to have breakfast together.
Love you!

Scarry: Memorial to our former fish

A memorial for our former fish, Scarry. We loved you, we cared for you and when we found we could no longer give you the care you required we thought we were giving you a better life. I am sorry, poor fish, that you met your demise at the hands of two 3 year olds who believed you were a toy and not an animal with feelings. Scarry tragically died of suffocation and marring. When two little boys believed that playing "cooking fish" was an acceptable means of entertainment. It's too bad that these boys didn't have heat, perhaps it would have made your passing easier. I hope you are swimming in Fishy heaven, You will be missed.
Update: Reading this post I realized that my humor may not have come through as I would hope, yes we are very sad our fish died, but this was mostly a joke. Sorry my humor was a bit dark.

Silly Pictures for our Silly Daddy

Matt left today for Pennsylvania , and I promised him I would update the blog daily for his fill Jase and Ian. We thought we would take some silly pictures for the king of silly! I checked the weather and you have a low of 43 tonight, I hope you don't get too cold without me :) I'll be fine, the low tonight is 73. Love you have a safe, fun and Physics filled trip!

EYES

Hey Kids show me your eyes! NEED I SAY MORE!

Cakes!

Here is a Dora cake I made for my friend Allison's second birthday. I was pleased that Allison knew what it was. And that's really all you can ask for when you make a cake for a 2 year old!
Since the party had lots of people we needed to make sure we had enough cake for everyone. I decided to do chocolate alien/monster cupcakes. They were so much fun to personalize each one. Matt helped me to decorate these cupcakes with candy to make them extra special.

Brazos Bend State Park

Alligator
Matt & Ian get a close up view!
Terri, points to the little one.
Who's watching who?
The frogs held perfectly still... They didn't want to be a gator meal.
My monkeys in a tree!
Isn't it amazingly beautiful!
It may look like ground, but it's all water under there (maybe some gators too).
Watching a turtle in the water from the observations tower.

Saturday we went to Brazos Bend State Park, it's just outside of Houston. It's absolutely gorgeous, Matt and I hope we will never get used to the Green. Things just don't get so green in NM, & UT. We love the water and the vegetation and most of all we LOVE the wildlife. We went hoping to see some Alligators, and they didn't disappoint. The first alligator that we saw was probably 50 feet away and I was thrilled, but I didn't know that we be so close that we could have touched them if we wanted too. This is a state park, but these are wild alligators, they are not fed by the park, so you wouldn't want to get too close or you could be lunch! One alligator keep moving toward Ian when we weren't right next to him, it made me a little nervous. It was fine though, it would have been really cool to see an alligator eat someone, even if it was my little one. We watched the alligators for an hour, I couldn't get used their majesty or size, they were beautiful. Jason watched cautiously from the sidelines, but Ian was fascinated. Ian said he loves alligators. He was so into everything we saw, and we saw much more amazing wildlife, Huge water turtles, frogs, Huge birds -seriously ginormous birds, and enough bugs to make me smile. We were lucky to see some centipedes and had quite a bit of fun with a Roley-poley. This is one Houston destination that we will be going back to!

Kemah

So there is nothing like a much needed ditch day. Yesterday Matt took the day off and we decided to go to Kemah. The boys love to go to Kemah to Ride the train. Ian wasn't happy about the train, he said he was having fun but he was very scared. I was jealous that Matt sat with him, I would have liked the snuggles. We enjoyed the boardwalk and the rides. The weather was very warm and humid, but hey, it's better then snow! And if anyone at Matt's Lab asks we tested all sorts of Physics principles while we were there, (amusement parks are a way to enjoy physics). Hope that makes you all want to come and visit us in Texas! The Picture of Me and Matt was taken by Jason, he did a good job!

Slide Show of The Host Signing

The Video is working now!

The long awaited night arrived. Friday we were lucky enough to see Stephenie Meyer and get our books signed. Here is a quick recap of the night. We waited in line to get in the building... waited in our seats for her to come. Listened to the Q&A about The Twilight Series and The Host. Yippee, she answered my question that I submitted on tuesday! We waited in line to get our book signed. (Alright, I need to back up here. I felt like the only person there that had actually read the book we were there for... granted it only came out two days before, but I was busting at the seams to talk to anyone about it!) Okay, back to the recap, It's my turn to get my book signed, Stephenie Meyer is the only person I've had a chance to talk with that has actually read the book. So of course, I have to mention my favorite character and why, she perks right up and starts talking to me about how this person developed (so cool!) Then I tell her my tag line that I made up, she loved it and said I should put it on a shirt! All the Barns and Noble people thought it was good too. I totally took all of Kelli's time to talk to Stephenie. I really do feel bad about that, but luckily Kelli still talks to me! On our way out we get our picture taken by one of the workers and she asks us where we go to High School, it was so flattering! We finished off the night with dinner and a LOT of laughing. We really had a blast! Thanks Kelli and Cara for a super fun night!

Some Fun Facts....

Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer the 3rd book in the Twilight Series kicked Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows off the #1 spot on the Best Seller list.

Stephenie Meyer has published 4 books and they are all still on the best seller lists.

The Host has been out for 1 week and it is in the #7 spot for Borders/Amazon best seller list.

The Host is not a part of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn the 4th book in the Twilight Series will be out August 2nd.

Field Day

Today was Field Day at Jason's school. I was sad I didn't get a chance to go, but he came home in his Field Day shirt and sporting his ribbon. He was a little grumpy about me taking his picture (he's such a Cannon male). I finally got him talking about what he did and he perked up. He's just so cute!

Water Guns

I know I have been a little neglectful of my blog, but I have a few very good reasons. First, I have been reading The Host (I wanted to get it finished before the Q&A session tonight with STEPHENIE MEYER... AHHHH) Oh and on a side note, it was FABULIOUS! Everyone must read it, it's totally different then the Twilight books but it's so much deeper. The second reason I have been bad about my blog is because I baby-sit, I am watching the cutest boy named Ethan. Another side note, it really gets confusing when you have an Ian and an Ethan around. So I've been a little busy. Even with all my crazy things, I still have two fabulous little guys that need some love. Here are some pictures of my boys with their new water guns!!! My friend Carrie gave them to us after we watched her little guy Danny isn't that sweet! Well the boys love the guns, and so do I :) Nothing like a little harmless water retaliation!

THE HOST

Emily said that I was addicted to Twilight, She's right but I think we need a broader base, I am a Stephenie Meyer addict. Today her book "The Host" came out and my friend Kelli and I went to wait in line to get a copy of the book, but not just to get the book. We also got a wrist band to meet the Author of the Twilight Series and the host on Friday. Addiction would be a good way to put it when you get up at 5am to get a BOOK. A HUGE THANK YOU TO CARA AND MATT FOR WATCHING THE KIDDO'S! We waited in line for about 3 hours but we had so much fun with other Twilight fans. It's a good thing Barnes and Noble doesn't have a problems with public urination (just kidding). Here are some pictures of our fun wait, check back on Saturday for my pictures of the book signing! Sorry, I need to go I have a book to read!!!

Waiting In Line

Me with my book :)
