Wolf Creek Adventures

Today we spent the day enjoying the beauty of the Wolf Creek area. First we went horse back riding. We had a great guide, his name was Goat (he said he was named "goat" because he has a hard head and a smelly butt) He was a real mountain man. Here is hubby looking cute on his horse.

We went over Wolf Creek Pass again today, yesterday it was snowing, but today it was beautiful, both the weather and nature. I was so high up that there was no doubt that I would have died if I fell off the cliff.

When we got to the other side of the pass, Matt and I went to Treasure Falls, It has always been one of our favorite spots because we went there on our honeymoon. 10 years ago we carved our name on an aspen tree, Here I am standing next to it.

Check out Matt carving our initials on the same tree!

Apple Dumpling B&B

This is were we are staying at the Apple Dumpling Bed and Breakfast in South Fork Colorado. We just love it here. The B&B is beautiful, the owners are friendly and the breakfast was so GOOD! Our room is awesome, it's big and cozy at the same time. Matt is sitting on the window seat and I am at the desk. We have a King bed and a whirlpool tub fit for 4, but I would recommend you only put 2 in it. The views from our room are amazing, it's so pretty here in South Fork. I hope that we can come back to the Apple dumpling soon (thanks for watching the boys everyone!)

Ortega/Schmidt/Cannon Photo Shoot

Yesterday my mom hired a photographer to take pictures of the Ortega/Schmidt/Cannon families. Matt hijacked the photo shoot with our camera and this silly activity ensued.

Before pictures Matt and Lil
Terri and Lil
Cute cousins

I hope that there is at least one Cannon that doesn't make silly faces. Boys don't take after your parents.
Matt and I are in BEAUTIFUL South Fork colorado. We had a great trip up here... no kids! It was snowing over the Wolf Creek pass, and it's far to cold for June and Houstonians. Well we have dinner reservations so we need to go. I love you Jason and Ian!!! Kisses Mom!

Safely in NM

Friday June 20th Matt, Terri, Jason, and Ian made the 15 hour drive to New Mexico. The trip went fast and the kids were great. Jason kept saying how excited he was. And every few hours would ask... "Are we in New Mexico now" When we were finally in New Mexico he was so giddy. Now I wish I could sleep (like Matt) but our kids are wide awake. Does it matter that our boys went to bed 3 & 4 hours after their bedtime - NO! Does it matter that they spent 15 hours in the car without a nap - NO! Do they have any concept of Time Zones - NO! Did they wake up at the time they normally would have at home - YES!
But really who can blame them they are just so excited to be here. Aren't we all.

Hmmm, does that date mean anything special to me...

Girls Camp

I was lucky to go to girls camp this year with the Young Women in our ward. These girls are great and we had a fun time. I had/got to leave early so that Matt and I could celebrate or anniversary and go on a trip to NM and CO. I was sad to leave our girls but happy to leave the miserable Heat. Who thought it was a good idea to camp in Houston in JUNE! I made new bug friends too, but the girls didn't like them very much. Most of the Young Women slept outside because it was just to hot in the tents, but who really slept anyway?
*** Okay I really need to get ready for our trip now!

Around the house

Here are a couple of pictures I took around the house this week. Jason loves to put Ian to bed, It's so cute, he reads him a story, Sings him some songs and then says a prayer with him. It's special because they both like it so much!

Earlier this week I was packing for girls camp and Ian had been following me around like my little shadow, I realized that all of a sudden he wasn't there anymore. I went to check to see where he was (because death is the only thing that could possibly keep Ian away from his mommy) and I found him sitting so peacefully reading his Nemo books.
Check out Ian wearing my shoes! Can you say STUD!
***If you are asking yourself why is Terri Blogging, doesn't she have a trip to pack for??? Well yes you are right! Sorry I must go now :)

BLUEBERRIES

Saturday we went to a blueberry farm to pick... yep, blueberries! I was amazed at how excited the boys were. Every time they saw a blueberry they would literally shriek with joy. Please remember we are at a farm, the berries were everywhere. It was so funny, I never thought they would be so into slave labor (they didn't even eat the berries, they just liked to pick them).
The farm doesn't use pesticides on their berries so you can just eat them off the bush and yes, they are the best blueberries I have ever eaten. Today we got almost 2lbs of blueberries and paid $2.50! Plus they don't charge you for sampling... mind you I probably got about as much in my bucket as I did in my belly. We had a super fun family day and Moorhead's blueberry farm is on my list of why Houston is so much better then where you live!

Jason showing off a blueberryWhat good pickers (they have practiced on their noses for so long)!
Check out our loot!

ABC's

Grab your kids and enjoy my absolute favorite version of the abc's!

It's on the album Snacktime by BNL

Cerial Killers

Everyone always says that kids grow up too quickly and it's not truly a concept that you understand till you see your kids grow in a blink of an eye. There are those days when they can't grow up fast enough, but while observing Jason getting Ian his breakfast a few days ago I realized how big my boys are. It's fun to see them grow. I look forward to the next phase while trying to remember the past and living in the now. (That sound like a lot mental work... I don't know if my brain can take it... )

HOT

Let me run down a few things for you! Bikes = Fun, Summer = Fun, Houston in June= HOT HOT HOT. Bikes + Summer+ Houston = Extreme HEAT and no fun!!! Of course after a couple of Popsicles and about a gallon of Ice water and an hour of Air conditioning I wrote a new equation: Bikes + Summer + Houston + Popsicles + AC + Time (and really cute pictures) = FUN

Bikes

My kids are just so yummy on their bikes, I thought I would share... and I wanted to see what some action shots looked like on our camera. Yes, all the shots are action, I know some look posed but they were moving! I love the one of Ian running away from Jase (I think they were having a race). Jase is fast on his bike, and let's just say Ian falls down when he runs, walks or stands still, so Jase won.

My little helpers

Most people know that I have been babysitting during the days. Looks like my boys are pulling their weight around here too! Here is Ian feeding Ethan his lunch. Ian did an amazing job and Ethan didn't mind it one bit.
Today we were at the Park and the boys do a great job making sure that Ethan is safe. We always hold hands when we are walking to and from the car, just so I know that I have everyone.
Yes, I realize that Ethan looks more like he could be mine more then Jase and Ian do, but sadly he's not. I am really going to miss him when I'm not watching him anymore. I have enjoyed watching Ethan and Danny. I seem to get attached to these little ones. I think that my helpers get attached too.

Rockin'

What do you do in your free time?
One might say that in my free time I, quilt, blog, check email, check my favorite web pages, read, learn to play the piano and rock out on guitar hero, but that's just not true. In my free time I take care of my kids, the rest of the stuff is mandatory!
Don't you love my guitar hero face :)
